Did a search and didn't find much. Was just wondering if people have a high opinion of these speakers for use in a two channel system. The lack of posts makes me think that the Heresy line would be much more highly regarded, just curious if they decent. 94 db and 8 ohm impedance seems OK.

The Heresy is a much better speaker in my opinion. You can buy good used Heresys on eBay for the same price as new KG3 I've found on the web. I think this is apples and oranges. Cheers.
I have had KG2s KG4s and Heresy Is. The KG line is really good for inexpensive modern speakers with reasonable efficiency (esp. the KG4s), but my old Heresys blow 'em away, especially with tubes. I bought the KG2s new in 1982, and KG4s used in '95 and I never found a reasonably priced power amp that made them sing. In 1998 I started messing with tubes and I got some Heresys (1977 serial numbers) and I'll never go back. KG4s got sold, KG2s are shop speakers-old friends-still used to voice my amp projects.My old Heresys came voiced as floor speakers, when I put them up on stands they were uncomfortably bright. This was easily fixed by modifying the crossover. The mid horn and the tweeter levels relative to the woofer can be adjusted by changing the connections on the autoformer in the crossover. One of the caps has to be changed as well as changing the connecetion effectively raises the impeadance of mid/tweet. Was 2uf, changed to 1uf. Fortunately I had a vintage paper in old cap (1uf/600v) on the bench. It took all of 15 min.
Beyond that, don't bother trying to modify the Heresys into something they're not. There's not a lot going on below 80hz, but what bass there is reasonbly tight and fast - something you can't say about a lot of vented designs or cheap subs. Just get a good sub. I like using two subs. No plate amp junk. Get a decent power amp and crossover.
I'm using 2 15"s and a big Adcom crossed over 18db slope at 40-60hz, depending on the material.I honestly think that two good subs and the Heresys give a good run to ANY of the "big" Klipsches in the average size room.
I'm moving into the Altec world now, which I think I prefer to any of the big Klipsches.

Hi TC2, I bought a pair of Heresys new in 1985 and kept them untill 2000 when I ebay them and put together an Altec A7 system. I sold off the A7 and bought the Edgarhorn system. Out of all of them, I liked the A7 most. Good luck with your Altec system. Cheers.
