Hi,I would like to find or build an inexpensive horn that would make the best use of my Fostex FE206 drivers. Any suggestions, links, or recommendations?
The horn will be used only above 250 Hz. Therefore I thought FLH is the best way to go, am I right?(Currently I'm using a small sealed enclosure with with a DBX digital crossover/EQ for EQ corrrection in a system for dancing/listeng to electronic music. I was inspired to switch to a horn enclosure after listening to a Funktion One system in a club)

Hi Herman,
I build myself FLH from glass-fibre for the FE206, going down to 200HZ.
This is not very expensive to build, but a lot of work.
Sorry, the text is in german, but I think the pictures tell the biggest parts.
Itīs very important to dampen the horns. Even if you think, its more than enough, more damping will mak it even better.
I use glassfibre, fibre reinforced concrete an latex-compound-material.
In my opinion a FLH ist the best use for a FE206.
Best regards, Michael

Hi.
No selling, itīs just diy / for fun.
But Bert Doppenberg (bd-design.nl ??) sells horns like this.
Making DIY horns is no big money (less than 100$ for motor and bearings of the "lathe", ca. 100$ fibreglass per horn), but hours of work I donīt want to count.
If you by chance come on a trip near Dortmund/germany you can stop, get a coffee (or a single malt, as you prefer ;-)) and take the mold with you to cast your own horns. I donīt need it anymore and it is collecting dust in the basement.
Best regards, Michael
Was just in Munich the other day, but now I'm in Chicago! I will try to find someone to fabricate one for me, maybe locally. Also, I need to somehow integrate a separate tweeter into the structure. I only operate the FE206 to 7kHz.
Greets!Check out Les's DIY horn efforts posted on this forum and see if he'll make you some if you like what you see:
