I would be interested to hear from anyone who has heard BOTH these speakers as to what differences one could expect in sound quality. I listen to a lot of opera, so accurate uncolored reproduction of voices is of great importance to me.I assume both sound big and open and probably sound better with tube than solid state amplification.
Any comments/comparisons would be greatly appreciated.

I'm have L300 clones; stock drivers & xover, but using Edgar round tractrix horns instead of the JBL horn/lens. MUCH less colored than the stock L300.I have heard K-horns as well. I much prefer the tractrix for uncolored sound in the vocal ranges vs the K-horns. The L300 bass goes quite deep with authority and the cabinet isn't as large (nor requires corners) but isn't as quick/dynamic as the K-horn.
For me, my L300 clone with a good PP DHT amp is my best compromise for what I want. I mostly listen to 'large' works; orchestral, big band, etc.
So, honestly, I would say neither in stock form for a big opera fan. Both would be colored to my ears.
Did you get those cat's eyes going Bean?
yeah, but I didn't do the xover as well I should have
New number Bean? email me at irishtom29@hotmail.com
If you are into voice reproduction my favorite amp for this type of music is a 45 amp. I am currently using Welborne DRD 45 Monoblocks on my Klipsch/Altec combination speaker.
Cut-Throat
I think the Khorn does cleaner more dynamic bass and the JBL does cleaner midrange and highs. Both are good speakers and both will sound good with good SS amps.
i have owned both speakers. dependig on how much you are willing to spend, there are much better alternatives today. i hear now k-horn with orphean of bd-design. this is a big improovement compared to klipschorn and l300. i would go either for orphean/bd15 of bd-design, ore all tad components with tractrix horns, and built something by my own.
