I really like the look of open horns with no cloth covers. No offense to Bruce, but I'm pretty sure I can do something a little more attractive than what is provided with the Titan kit. Hey, you really pay for the design but I now have a great deal of respect for Bruce's or his helper's skills with a table saw. I've got to believe there are some jigs involved when they do it. Anyway, I started to build some clones off of the kits using a plywood upgrade from my local supplier. WOW! I'm having a lot of fun but this is also very challenging! So far, so good. I've made a mistake or two but nothing that I've not been able to recover. I've also learned that there are a couple of better ways to go about this than what I've done so far.As a part-time, somewhat serious woodworker this is a great project. One needs to like piecing a puzzle together. One also needs to have a solid table saw and really know how to use it. A friend of mine wanted to know why I didn't make the horns out of hardwood. I thought about it, but I'd be heartbroken if I saw a split a year or so out after so much effort. Besides, the main goal is something that sounds awesome!
Follow Ups:
Bruce told me that he uses more than saw to get all those angles right. He said that he finishes some of the angles by grinding/sanding if I remember correctly. Makes his 80hz kit seem like a good deal.
Yes, he just sent me an email saying he uses a disc sander to get the angles right. Since I already joined those pieces I decided to run a slight bevel on the mating surfaces of the other pieces that attach to those edges. As I said, I've made a few mistakes but so far I've been able to get things to work. :)
should be lots easier (other than possible belt-sanding) to do his old style with slats per SB midrange article.
I assume those are tractrix. Volvotreter has some great pictures of building that design. These aren't so bad. Once you've done one and figured out the best way to proceed it doesn't really take that long. You just need patience.
no ~hypex (if that matters a lot for St= 80sq.in., length ~20.5" and 20.5x20.5" mouth) and built by Bruce to run with 2220, etc. I've posted a few outdoor measurements and simulation.

Do what? I sent it using your earthlink addy that you've been using to email me.
