Hi,As noted previously in other posts I'm using a DCX2496 with my Altec 416a's, 806a's and 811b's.
As a source I've got the Roku M1001 (not recommended) and the Airport Express using the digital out from both to the Behringer.
On the output from the DCX2496 I've inserted 12db of attenuation to match the inputs on my receiver.
There are currently several small speaker manufacturers using the DCX with their product.
Please note I'm not looking for perfection but am really enjoying the performance of these vintage speakers with this crossover.
Not surprising to see this mod available.

"Not surprising to see this mod available."Well you know how it is Don, lots of audiophiles don't dare use something unless it's "audiophile approved" which stock pro-sound gear is most certainly not. No matter how good it sounds.
Of course if we hornys cared about audiophile convention we wouldn't be using horns in the first place.
Personally I hope horns never become reputable, would take half the fun away. ;-)
Tom,I had Tannoy Monitor Gold's from 1979 to almost 1999. I had worked with Altecs during University (1977-1981) and decided to build a home system similar to the Model 19's in the year 2000.
I also have a set of full range speakers as well with the Fostex 167e's in a pair of Martin's Qtr Wave designs.
Many people go to the full range likely due to the small size, lack of crossover and no phase or alignment issues. In addition a 6" (approx 94 db) driver can provide excellent mid range and dynamics for the money.
The DCX allowed me to resolve the latter issues and come up with an Altec system that I'm really enjoying.
Its the "experience" that counts.
For what its worth I still listen to the full range system as well.
Don
Well I have some single drivers too Don, Fostex FX-120s that I'll probably use out in the garage when I go out there to smoke cigars. Unless I use my Bozaks. First I gotta get things out there cleaned all up though. But there's no chance of the Fostexes doing Ben-Hur duty in the HT.
