Hi,I'm helping a friend get drawings for his 18" JBL subwoofers... he's think of trying them out in a Karlson box. Please email me if you have the plans. Thanks a lot.

you could probably go about with K15 by adding an inch or so of heightwhat is its purpose?
Here's the large Gauss K18 plans
Hi Freddyi,Thank you very much for the links... My friend has the JBL 2445 compression tweeters which he intends to use with the 18" JBL woofers in a Karlson box... I will post pictures once the spks project is completed.
ther must be some lattitude and some constraints to chamber sizing and proportions. That said, Dirk Bladt built a K18 ~scaled to K15 using 1" plywood and final tuning ended up at 30Hz for a Fane 18". Dirk previously had a reflex the size of this K's rear chamber and said the K cut cone excursion.K15 at 7.73 cubic feet is enough bulk for K18 woring to ~55hz in half-space.
side-gapped vents might sound somewhat different run wideband than a central or transflex vent.
Dirk's k18
a 21.5" wide K 32"Hx20"D I used for 18" - the cupped 3 panel reflector could probably be simplified to one or two boards. Starting vents wer 2-4.5" holes to accept pvc. These without duct tuned it around 50Hz
Hi freddyi,Thanks again for all the pointers... we look into these points and do our best estimation for the box. IMO we should be able to get a pretty good pair of bass bins.... :-))
low driver mass, strong motor and low inductance don't hurt. I don't like reflex. I don't like heavy woofer in reflex including B&C :^)
