I have used them both with passive crossovers, and now with my marchand xm-126 active vacuum tube crossover. No horn shout either way. Good luck with your set up! John
my crossover point with the marhcnad x-over is now set at 800Hz. The JBL twin 15" bass bins I have can be run up to 1100 Hz and the TAD drivers are "supposed" to be good from ~600Hz-650Hz on up. Again good luck with your combo. BTW, that budget active crossover I mentioned is for the Altec drivers when I find a pair of cabinets for them to use next to a bedroom TV. John
