I use Fertin 20EX (another field coil driver) on the JELabs OB, which you can find here. I use a rear-facing Fostex FT96H with a .68uf cap to fill in the highs, and a 12v 26ah battery to power the field coils. Most of the rest of my system is pretty modest. I have a IBM T23 and M-Audio Audiophile USB (really, it's not THAT bad) as source and a 11BM8 ultralinear push-pull for amplification. I just finished a 27 parafeed preamp and am starting on a 45 SET.I really, REALLY like OB and field coil speakers.

Thank you nullspace
Hello Nullspace,
Thank you for sharing your pictures. There is not much information about Ferritin FCs. Can you describe your FC in more detail - frequency response in a OB? is the bass adequate? how much were those drivers? have you tried those in a different OB set up ... with wings?
Well, like all fullrange drivers it's not really fullrange -- it's more like widerange. They do sound much better with the supertweeter filling in the highs, and mine drop off pretty quickly under 80hz. There's a really extended thread over at diyaudio on these drivers in OB.I haven't tried these in any other OB as I expect the bass would suffer even more. And, new I think they run around $2k per pair; I bought mine used.
Regards,
John
If you want additional info on the new Fertin 20EXyou can e-mail me. It would be a bit higher than the 2000$
depending on the options. The new 20EX will easily reach
20khz flat and roll off to 40khz; that I was told from Fertin.
