Hello Freddyi,Is your previous post related to the "bandpass" subject?
"I think so" - unless mixed up projects - is this related?http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.mpl?forum=hug&n=60051

This works so well it is obscene.
Two 295-455 in a 4th order bandpass box, two boxes per side of the stage.
The sealed chamber is 3.25 cu ft, the vented chamber is 9 cu ft, the vent is a 16.5" hole in the 1.5" thick front panel with a radius on both sides.
Each box will be 107dB/2.83V and be a 4 ohm load for the amplifier.
A $349 Behringer EUROPOWER EP2500 is 1200W/2R or 800W/4R in stereo. One box per channel, one amp for each side of the stage.
Two boxes side by side would be 113dB/2.83V, and the EP2500 would put out 27dBW for a total of about 140dB at 50hz. The other side of the stage would contribute another 3dB to the total bass output into the room.At 50hz with the EP2500 the driver cannot over-excurd. X-max will be reached at 800W (rated amplifier power at 4R) per pair of drivers at 32hz.
For best driver cooling, mount the magnets in the vented side of the box and wire in reverse phase.
The x-max limited output of either the 9.6mm Peavey or 9.3mm Selenium at 50hz would only be 128.4dB in pairs, the 6mm Dayton pro would be 3dB less at 125.4dB.
4 of the Dayton 295-455 will play 12dB louder than 2 of the more expensive 18" drivers, and only be using half the rated x-max.
The boxes would have the same F3, and be the same volume (although we are talking twice as may boxes for 140+ dB).
Hello Freddyi,I was wondering why you don`t see many bandpass subs for PA-use? What are the pro and con`s between a bandpass, horn or vented sub?
Many people saying that these type of enclosures have the worst transient respons. On the other hand if you reading the live audio forum (the shootout) people talking very positive about the EMS-215 (also a dual bandpass box)
Included are my sims with akabak.
2 drivers kilomax pro 15"
front enclosure 310L tuned at 39Hz
bank enclosure 106L tuned at 79HzWhat do you think?
