What do you guys like for 10 and 12" coaxes? I seem to find a lot of information on 15" coaxes, but not too much about the smaller 10s and 12s.
Follow Ups:
I like the p-audio drivers I have (15-CXHB's), and a couple of people on this forum have praised the 8's extremely highly. My guess is that their 10's and 12's are also worthwhile. Why are you after a 10 or 12" anyway (as opposed to a 15)? Is there a particular cabinet volume / width you are shooting for? Cos if it's small you want, maybe a pair of the p-audio 8" coaxials + a sub is a good option (since the 8's have been highly recommended).
Cause these might get a home in my car...and I can't fit 15s in the kickpanels. 10s will go, and 12s probably would go. And no, the interior of the car isn't stock...lol. I know 8s would fit easily...but I was wanting something a tad larger than 8s, so I was looking at 10s and 12s. But 8s migh be a good place to start to see if this is something worth pursuing or not.
I am using the Stromberg-Carlson 12" Custom Wide Ragne coax driver. It is 57 years old and sounds great with my 300B SET amp. Cheers.
The Adire HE-10 sounds good IMO.I've heard good things about the Radian coaxes but never heard them. They're certainly built seriously.
If you go used the EV 12" coaxes have many fans and I've heard them sounding pretty good. My opinion.
I have heard a few people talk about the Radians...seems like the 8s are star performers there.Tom, any particular models of EVs? I have a source for EV SP12Ls I think they are...and I have access to JBL 2405 slots for the top top end and some Fane ST5022s as well.
Shoot me an e-mail - I have some information that might be useful but it's of a somewhat commercial nature.
Will do Duke.
