Hello people!!
I picked up a pair of (discontinued) NOS Foster horn-loaded tweeters, model #025N47.
I also have a pair of 8" FR Coral drivers.
They do not have whizzer cones, so I'm assuming they would roll off at a lower frequency.
How low a frequency can I cross over to the Foster's, and not risk damaging them?
Also, would a simple 1st order Xover work best, or at a lower frequency, should I use a 2nd order Xover to protect the Foster's?
Any and all suggeations would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
THANKS!!!
Steve
Follow Ups:
What model is the Coral, It could sound like a 8F60 driver ?I would go with a first order crossover.
Try different crossover points, 12khz, 10khz, 8khz, to find the one that sounds best.
It is a Coral 8L-18B.
I have no data for that driver, but looking at some measurements from eBay this looks like a candidate for open baffle.
Thanks!!
I've always been curious about doing an open baffle?
But with five cats at home....hum.....??
