Although this motor is primarily intended for 3 V use, the spec sheet says that it can be used at 1-6 V. If interested, look at http://www.daisy-laser.com/products/CD/mechanisms/vam1202/vam1202_12V1.daisy.pdfSchematic in SCD-1 service manual (page 28) shows that sled motor is not driven directly from 12 V supply. It is driven by a chip with the output voltage of 6 V.

I just received an e-mail from Kysan notifying me that motors will be shipped this Friday, April 20, and that they should arrive no later than April 28.
