I've seen a few posts from you lately regarding SACD. I though you had given up on the format. I'm not trying to start anything - I'm just curious.
Follow Ups:
Still like analog the best by a long shot, I have ever since my first Sony DVP-S9000ES was in the shop on and off for three months.I missed the Erich Kunzel and Paavo Jarvi SACDs, and now that I have 99% of my must have LPs, Cassettes and Reel to Reels it was time to give SACD another spin. Due to my past experiences I stayed away of anything branded Sony or made by Sony and I hope Yamaha does not let me down.
I have dedicated one shelf to Digital media (SACD, DVD-Audio, DVD-Video and CD) which will hold a maximum of 208 items, so I am trying to choose wisely. Mostly so far it has been Telarc SACDs and CDs. But I also have a couple of other SACDs such as the Bernard Herrmann on Sony, the Mancini on Concord, and Man of the World: Reflections on Peter Green on Audio Fidelity. Also got the new Love DVD-Audio by the Beatles.
I am enjoying being able to and playing just about any format except 8 Track and Elcaset. Life is grand!

I picked up a yamaha S1700 deck myself, but have no idea what it sounds like yet. My intention was to suplement my Marantz 8260, and also let the Marantz do the redbook chores as well. I plan on feeding the digital output of the Marantz into a DAC with hopes of further smoothing things out.
The hold up right now with the Yamaha is in getting the monitor hooked up. Guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy a wall mount for the LCD screen. I actually had trouble finding a DVD-A player, and virtually none of the sales people had a clue what DVD-A is.
As I write this I do not own a single DVD-A, but own a few SACD's.
Also include an ever grown stash of redbook CD's. But my vinyl collection is groing faster than I can find places to further stash it. But as much vinyl as I pick up, I still seem to revert pack to the old standbys in my collection on a regular basis. And then there is the discovery of something new and cool that's been in my collection for well over twenty-five years.
