  Unfortunately, you can't. The front display on the Oppo does not show the menu screens that are shown on a monitor or TV screen. You will find that some people purchase a small TV just so that they can see the menu screens to navigate them for their dedicated two channel systems. Others like myself use the Oppo as intended, as part of a home theater system.

      The 970 doesn't have a function to dim or eliminate the display.
