I have not tried contacting them, but please do keep us posted on the status of their response.

I'm sure a group buy could be organized on this forum as might be necessary to meet quantity requirements.
they will sell smaller quantities with a $20 per order surcharge. Certainly affordable. I will try to get Winson on the phone this week and post back to the forum. Still, I would like to see Sony step up with support for our players - these were expensive top line units and Sony ought to keep them up. This issue spooked me into ordering a laser assembly and spindle motor last week before they too vanish from Sony's parts inventory - I'm looking at them on my desk right now as I type this. Yeah, maybe it's dumb to spend $300 bucks for unneeded parts for unit that now sells for about a thousand on Audiogon, but I really enjoy the machine and a replacement like the McIntosh MCD201 runs around $3500. Whose cage at Sony can we shake!?
Does anyone have ideas about how we could obtain the specs and manufacturer of the original Sony part? Winson makes two flavors of the motor in question, and possibly neither one will really work correctly. OEM info would help. I'm willing to take a shot at calling Winson on their phone number to obtain basic information about minimum orders and prices. I have a Chinese colleague who might help with language difficulties if needed. Another thought: is there a contact person at Sony that we might complain to as a group to see if we could persuade the company to do another run of sled motor assemblies? Man, the thought of my SCD777ES turning into a boat anchor because of a $90 part failure gives me fits!
By the look of this little motor, I'd be surprised if the unit price is more than $2, making a group buy at qty 200 quite attractive vs Sony's unit price of $100(including the plastic worm gear and the bracket).
