Even though I've drifted away from multichannel listening and don't have a very good multichannel setup, I'm looking forward to hearing some of these albums in multichannel, especially The Lamb. I've also heard there will be new stereo mixes. Based on hearing the Platinum Collection CD, which has some new remixes, I expect at least some of the stereo mixes on the SACDs to be better than what's currently available.

...see link below. No problem. This just means you have to buy them from Europe. Amazon.fr usually has good prices. It's a similar story as with the Police where Europe got the hydbrids and the US the single layer I believe. Look at the 'Nick Davis' post somewhere in the middle. It would be great if the stereo layer would improve the sound of these discs, but I am skeptical and probably wait for te first reports before I buy them.

lossless 96/24 dts?
Yeah,USA folks has to pay out the butt for Import SACD's ,just like the Moody's releases.Double cd's with lots of extra/filler? tracks and $40 list. Wish they would release in USA with Tracks as in orginal release, maybe a few extra tracks at the $15 price point.Since the 60's we have had to buy imports to get best quality/selection records,No need to change now.The Majors here gear their music and releases to the mainstream vanilla music loving public.JD
It would seem they have been pushing Warner for a long time on this. The Lamb has been ready to go for over two years, for example. I'm happy ordering from Europe and would have preferred to see them go ahead with the original schedule and no US release. I'm sure a lot of other fans in the US feel the same way. Maybe if they had shown Warner the potential demand and how much business they're losing, the situation would be different. On a related note, I don't really understand why the record labels get caught up in format wars. It would seem to me that they would benefit most from being format agnostic and release content into whatever formats & markets they see potential sales. The idea that Warner would leave money on the table out of loyalty for a dead format seems perverse.
to hate the reactionary and oppressive US Record industry: non participation with their British and European sister labels. Slow to release, and not including all of the elements of the product......May their death come quick.....
