I would be interested in exploring multichannel SACD capabilities of the unit, but I have no way of getting the DSD signal out. The only way to do this is with an HDMI cable to one of Sony's ES preamps--which I don't have and am now (unfortunately) tempted to buy as much to explore mch SACD as for component video switching capabilities. Thus far, I have enjoyed the PS3 as a blu-ray DVD player and game console (made it all the way through Resistance and am now going to start playing Call of Duty).Crimson, who sometimes posts here, has explored the PS3 mch capabilities using the HDMI cable and was not very impressed.

Are you feeding 720p, 1080i or 1080p to your display ? If feeding 720p/1080i, how's Blu-Ray picture quality compared to DVD PQ ? Re: 720p front projector craving HD sources....thanks
I have a 37" Westinghouse 1080p video display. Have been watching HD broadcast TV for some time ( 1080i) and that is stunningly better than DVD. Only 1080p content has been the Sony enclosed movie "talledega nights" which is so awful that picture quality seems immaterial. We have a 1080p video game "Ultimate alliance" and the graphics are stunning - game is awful, but kids like it.
I have a 720p-native front projector I don't plan on giving up anytime soon.
