including myself, is that I would be reluctant to play any original discs in such a player. As with a car CD player, I would want to play only copies; whenever I look closely at the condition of my dupes after some time, I'm glad they aren't the originals.
The photo of the SACD-capable MEX-DV1000 shows NO disc insertion slot, but does have an "open" button in the upper right corner. The "related link" that appears lower on that page ("Sony Xplod Car Stereo Products") takes you to a series of photos of a non-SACD unit that looks very similar, but has a very obvious disc insertion slot.Will the SACD players have a hinged front panel that hides a motorized tray, or will they rely on separate, perhaps trunk-mounted, changers?
They come out with SACD car players, the PS3, which plays SACD... Yet they drop SACD like a hot potato when it comes to software. Where is the logic in that?

Yes, just got the announcement from Sony on the three SACD Car Stereo units yesterday.They will be released by the company's "Explod" Car Stereo & In Car Entertainment group. (See picture below).
