hello, I own a Sony SCD-1 and I would like to place a Shakti on line on top of the dac but I am not sure of it's location or what it looks like, can anyone help me with this please?
Follow Ups:
Get a updated super clock 4.I don't believe you would perceive
any improvement.
Since I have my trusty 777 and home brew pre amp at my seated position, I have come up with a much better tweak than the Shakti stones. I place one well chilled 4 ounce martini right in from of the on off switch. After a one martini the sound is smooth and tranquil. But then again this effect may be due to the fact that my amps are then running at optimal operating temperature.
.. replacing the stock power cord with an Acrolink and buying a Neuance shelf from Ken Lyons which in turn rests upon three Pro Aurios. I also use a SID (Sonic Improvement Disc) Model 15.While I have no reason to doubt that further improvements would be made by internal mods, I am satisfied with these external mods for now. And I believe that selling a stock unit may be easier than selling a modded one - IMHO.
I believe I read of this while reading an article / review about the Modwright and Audiomod mods of the SCD-1 on the Positivefeedback.com website. For the record, I have had Richard Kern perform his full $4,500 mod on my SCD-1, also I own several Shakti stones and " on lines " so all I have to do is grab one and try it so it is not like I will be out a lot of money.
I am always open to experimentation, I just this week replaced all four fuses in the SCD-1 with HI-FI tuning fuses from Germany, I treated all four with Caig deoxit and progold and followed this with a faint whisper of Walker Super Silver Treatment
Instead of wasting $199, for a genuine improvement, put the money on a replacement clock.
...is about 3 inches in from the right hand side of the player. and about 3 inches back from the front panel. But placing a Shatki stone there will be a problem - as this area is covered by the transport sliding cover when the transport is open for changing the disc.I personally believe it will be a total waste of time placing a Shatki stone on this location - but it may help if placed over the power transformers - which are in the rear left hand corner of the machine.
Another fool parting his money....Place four stones under the unit.
Where did you read about it? What do you think will change using it?
A Google search also turns up lots of information and pics.
