Hello, I plan to replace the internal fuses inside my Sony SCD-1 with HI-FI silver tuning fuses from Germany, can anyone tell me the type ( amperage ) fuses that the SCD-1 uses?
This would save me the trouble of removing the lid until my new fuses arrive.
Follow Ups:
Hello, I went ahead and removed the lid from my SCD-1 and there are a total of four fuses, all are 125V 1.6 amp.
I sit my Sony atop a Symposium Quantum platform with Symposium super couplers ( highly recommended! ) I have had Richard Kern perform his all out full mod package, I use a Harmonic Technology Magic Reference power cord plugged into a PS Audio power plant, I use a Furutech demag and glasse cd bevel machine and sit two Shakti stones on top of the player so this is about the end of the road for me as far as tweaks go, I figure this sort of falls under the category of " may not help, bot will not hurt anything "
stator 99,This is something I've wondered about for quite some time myself. Please share your experiences with the board once you've made the switch out.
it is marked as F481, it lives on the "AC board" and is rated at 1.6A/125V for the USA/Canada 115VAC line voltage region.Without opening up our own unit - I can't tell you the physical size of this fuse - or if it's a 'clip in' or 'solder in' fuse.
