I was reading this thread on another forum (maybe A-gon, but I can't remember.) However, I can't recall ever hearing about drop outs w/ Denon players on this board.Anyway, can anyone offer their experience with a Denon and drop outs? Almost everything I've read about these Universal players has been positive......
TIA
Follow Ups:
Had a Denon 2900 for six months.... no drop-outs. Presently own a Denon 5900 for almost a year... no drop outs.
Accuphase DP65V cdp or Denon DVD-5900 Universal
PS Audio PCA-2 Pre - Krell KSA50S - Tannoy D500 spkrs
My 3910 had a few dropout in DVD playback on the first few days.
It became normalised afterward.
2900 for about 1 year. No drop-outs on anything.
Same here.....no drop outs on my 2900 after about six months.
with a Mercury Living Presence (Janos Starker/Bach Cello Suites) SACD.
From looking through the forums here and SA-CD.net, this (and the Byron Janis/Rachmaninoff) can have problems.Seems like a combination of a touchy disc AND player. Ours has gone back to Denon (on warranty), the loaner 5900 we got playes the disc without problems.
Other than that, we've had absolutely no problems in 10 months.
On the other hand, with the exception of the Phillips SACD 1000 and several much older players, I have not had any drop outs.
.
I will move up the line. I expect a price fall shortly, anyway. Also, saw a great deal on the Omega?
