What 'annoys' me my French friends :-) is that no one has posted any impressions of the Charles Aznavour discs (afaik). HAs anyone bought these and if so, what do you think? Thanks, and joyeux holidays to all who read this.
Follow Ups:
Joel, the Aznavour titles are excellentIf you are thinking SOTA audiophile stuff, forget it, but definitely the best digital version of Aznavour to date (I had several recent CD remasters and they are much better), it's especially spectacular because you can hear a lot of details in his voice (sometimes grainy, sometimes incredibly smooth). The musicians and arrangements are OK, nothing great IMO.
Just for the anecdote, Aznavour's voice was studied once as a case example of male voice that women found "sexy", and they tried to analyse why. I don't remember all the details but basically the spectrogram analysis of his voice showed that he didn't have a "pure" voice, but on the contrary lots of imperfections but it covered a broad spectrum, which triggered some kind of human sexual response with women.
Anyway, I like the two titles I have, and I also recommend the Barbara title, for pretty much the same reason (the voice)
Happy Xmas

It's like they've got eleven Dicks on the
field."
I've seen these SACDs at Tower (quite a few titles) and would like to know which ones are worthy....Joyeux Noël à toi, aussi, Joel!
I recently ordered If Faut Savoir and La Boheme (look at the used section on amazon.com for good prices).
