you ignore the fact that the replaced chips are ok. Why did you buy a Philips?
permanently solve the SACD 1000 problems. Temporary fix.Mine now has a sparking noise intermittent; during the playing of the music. Every five minutes or so, only one channel at a time. But the both channels are effected. Back it goes.
a few to several hours every day, it has not malfunctioned or hiccupped once. Someday it will fail, everything does sooner or later, in the meantime I am enjoying Redbook and SACD performance that most can only dream about. My investment totals less than 2K
all together. Worth it? You betcha, nothing else touches it unless you spend 14K for Meiters (SPL) units. Even then it is pretty much a tie.

this one would please you. I have heard it and it is an amazing sounding little player. Alex does good work and who would think that a lowly Pioneer would turn into such an accurate enjoyable nodded player? Not me, that is for sure, but I was very happily surprised.
I have no idea if you can buy these still or not...
