Well it's two weeks since the last post. I've got nothing "new"
to report-I was hoping someone else would. So here's something old you may like:Natacha Atlas "Diaspora"
and my usuals-
Mino Cinelu "S/T"
African Head Charge vs Professor Stretch "Drums of Defiance"Maybe everyone's on vacation
Follow Ups:
Toires, Oued-Sanati.......Has Natacha on it. Very nice, downtempo, sad, ambient laced: good stuff for sure....
Khaled is big time fun for sure......
There's no point in direction, we cannot even choose, a side
to the stuff that I mentioned that i bought, - post below Tony's.I've been picking up some archival stuff, and stuff that's not considered HipPop, - like David Bowie, Patricia Barber etc.
Trying to figure out if I like Husky Rescue or not. I also found an Abed Azrie, - but it's not one of his 3 recommended.
The new Eno that Tony mentioned is brilliant, - IMO. :-)
Natacha Atlas.
I have Halim, the Remix Collection, Ayeshtini, Gedida, and a couple of other compilations with her on them, - most notably Arabesque, Uhomo. (It's blue with the camel head on the cover). Arabesque is probably in my top 5 or 10 all time favorite recordings. I can't rave about it enough and everytime I find a used copy at Amoeba, - it goes off in the mail to a friend.... I didn't like Something Dangerous.Cheers,
