God speed You Black Emperor,"Raise Your Fists Like Tiny...." after your previous discussion somewhere below.
It has expanded my collection of decent straight through listening material.
Thanks
Renznors attention to textures is what makes "Fragile" such a great sonic journey.Try out the soundtrack to "Lost Highway" a sonic treat as well,BTW it has Trents cut "Perfect Drug"(could have been better recorded like rest of the soundtracks offerings)
Follow Ups:
Would be this the corret title of that Godspeed You Black Emperor release you talked about?Pretty good stuff indeed. I have this and F#A# Infinity by them, both awesome.
I have just discovered another stuff with some nice hints of GYBE. It's a band called Murder By Death, that seems to be awesome too. The one difference is that MBD features vocals. There are some audio & video samples available at their website, at this link:

Are you familiar with Sigur Rós already? Worth checking out too.
thanks ,I'll check those out

If you want textures, see if you can find a copy of the original Quake shareware CD game.He did the soundtrack (if you can call it that). It starts off really pumped, but then dies down to what I think might be called nightmare ambient. Dark, extremely slow, atonal, etc.
I've lost my copy unfortunately. You can actually just pop the disc into any CD player and it would play.
on my copy of Half-life?
