Shamen - En-tact...I pulled this one out to listen to it again. Oh man!
This has to be some of the worst techno/rap ever produced. What did I ever like about this album?
IMO, the album has one redeeming song: Hyperreal Selector.
So as not to totally dismiss the Shamen, I also put on their Axis Mutata album and still find that to be relevant.
From the same stack, I also pulled out The Golden Palominos - Pure.
That album has still got it...and in spades. Great vocalist, cool grooves, etc.Same goes for the only Kate Bush album I own: The Red Shoes. I'm going to be picking up more of her stuff.
Follow Ups:
After reading your post, I put En-Tact in the player last night--I've haven't listened to it in years. I was never really that impressed with it, but wow, you're right... it sucks!I remember reading an interview with Mr. C in NME about 10 years ago. He was talking about his "dance style." (There's a hint right there.) He said that when he dances, he moves one hand in response to the high hats, and the other in response to the bass or something to that effect. The best part, "Not many people can do that," he said. Apparently, the guy doesn't understand how a drum kit is played. It was pretty much downhill for the Shamen from that point on.
but I never bought any. On the other hand I have Hounds & Kite by Ms Bush. Does anyone know which album 'Breathing' is on ?
I definitely could be wrong, but I don't think Kite is a Kate Bush album. Are you possibly referring to Kirsty MacColl? That's a great album, if that's the one.
'Breathing' is on her Never Forever record.I have been a fan for nearly 20 years. I have The Dreaming, Kick Inside, Hounds Of Love, The Sensual World and Red Shoes. It is hard to go wrong with Kate Bush...unless you just don't like her style.
She is probably the most creative, not to mention the most influencial singer/songwriter out there. She often releases recordings on vinyl as well as disc.
She has a new album coming out this year.
Now I wonder if I can get a copy on vinyl......
