The "sweet soul" love song triumverate.

aren't those motown sound bands? i'm positive that i've heard the stylistics before at the very least.just reading your reply, i was reminded of "never my love" by the association in the oldies dept.
i'll have to look into those bands to see if they agree with my tastes or not.
No, they were "Philly/NJ based". The ultimate falsetto-led sweet Philly Soul sound. The Delfonics & Stylistics were produced by Thom Bell, who used to be with Gamble/Huff, until going on his own with incredible strings, oboe, tympani, etc arrangements. The themes were always about love.
i still haven't gotten around to checking your list out. i totally got burned out on auditions today after an hour's worth of other R&B recommendations that totally didn't work for me. i'm not really into the 60's R&B sound. i'd rather go back further to doowop, but i am actively listening to everything everyone is recommending.regardless, the variety here should be a good resource for anyone looking for some good mood music.
