... versions of songs... errr and other compostions by R. D. Burman.
I am sitting here in the extrem spring heat (about25C) and it sounds fantastic.
I saw the Ks do one of these while they were touring about the turn of the year and this really lives up to the promise.
With a little Zakir Hussein for good measure and the 4tet playing all manner of instruments as well as the traditional violin/viola/cello combination, I hope `you can imagine how good this disc is.
Its called You've Stolen My Heart and you deserve to hear it.
Follow Ups:
She loves the Bollywood thing - has done the dancing and is off to Bollywood Nights (sans your's truly). I am guessing I would like this album too... but she can spring for the $$$Cheers, Raymond
PS. Brisbane in not yet mid-spring = 35 degrees C and rising over the next couple of days; yuk!
While we were in Sydney last week w went to the opening night of Merchants Of Bollywod, a musical about the changing face of Bollywood films.
Great fun!
It was 35 here earlier although I know that is nothing like an official figure.
Farmers' market early tomorrow.
Ah yes, it is Merchants Of Bollywood, not Bollywood Nights (where did I get that from?) that she is off to see.The temp is supposed to top 36 today - hit the markets early (West End for me) and get out.
Since the dental operation I had last Friday, my jaw/gum is a bit swollen and painful and the temp bridgework is uncomfortable so I am staying close to home!
It looks like housework until the heat gets me and I head for the deck with some of the new music.
The fridge is stocked from the farmers' market and there is plenty of wine around.
Sounds like a plan!
Sounds like an awesome plan. Ah, to have some spare time to just relax and listen to music... Hopefully during my summer break.Sounds like your jaw is healing okay tho - not too many complications I hope?
really!
Its just sore as hell when I put the temp in because it swells and then you kind of push the temp into it!
