US internet radio stations can not legally broadcast music outside the US unless they have an international license - which does not exist - or purchase licenses for broadcast within specific countries.So, Pandora is the first biggie to shut down overseas as of tomorrow. I have heard that this is easy to get around from a friend, but it may be illegal in your country of residence: Either get a proxy IP from a US address or use anonymous browsing software.
I have been a dedicated CD buyer up til now. No longer.

they cannot really stop their broadcast from going overseas. It turns out they stream only to registered users, and they are now requiring a U.S. address to register. How much checking will they do? Probably none.

Capital Radio in the UK requires you to register a UK area code to use their service, and are kind enough to list their address (with the area code) on the page :-)
Or does none still broadcast music with controlled distribution rights?
I used Pandora to pick CDs that i later bought at full price. Without Pandora it is too risky and I will revert to illegal downloading to identify good CDs, but since I have to download a CD to find out if it's any good, why buy it later? It's already sitting on my computer,
