Even though it's a lot more distorted (and damaging to the vinyl), I'd take one of those old-fashioned "suitcase" record players over a CD or iPod based product.God knows what RFI does to a baby's brain. And maybe the 22 kHz component of the playback, provided it's CD.
I certainly don't, either...Plonking "tinies" in front of TVs and DVDs for hours at a time, not to mention being close to computers, strikes me as being a rather greater risk of direct influence than hearing distorted music from equipment and cables not shielded from RFI, but perhaps you feel differently...
I would normally suggest that you may have forgotten to mention shunning transistor amplifiers because of their inherent "glare" in favour of an obviously "warm" push-pull EL34 valve amp, but you've already commented on your posting priorities, so I won't...
