Anyone check out all the REALLY nice tube audio gear on display in "Infernal Affairs", the original to the remake "The Departed" by Scorsese? There's even a scene in the original that contemplates the use of better IC's to achieve improved sound quality. To bad marty forgot to include any of these nuances in his version, as I believe they had relevance re the characters. Though it didn't fall short of being a stereotypical "marty" type film; where is "taxi driver" when you need it?!
Oh well, guess marty isn't much into audio gear or music. Pooh pooh on you Mr. "Best Achievement in Directing" award winner!!
Follow Ups:
The manufacturer of the tube gear is Hing Kong based. I believe, and I'm sorry I do not remember their name, they were making an attempt to enter the US market last Year.
In addition to the great plot, the movie was a big hit with all the Chinese audiophiles I know
Pause, rewind, freeze frame? Perhaps change angles? Do a zoom? To be honest, I've never thought of torturing my wife using these techniques.....but now.....BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ;~)On second thought.....
probably more than some other director may have done."the use of better IC's to achieve improved sound quality."
Damn! What a subtle way to get THAT point across, and in a film yet!
"I always play jazz records backwards, they sound better that way"
-Thomas Edison
...is supposed to be able to afford this stuff?" I suppose it could have been passed down through the "family."
