Their ad states "the Duet Power Center is capable of powering an entire system’s worth of equipment and provide clean, safe power where it is needed". PS Power states “the Duet will offer superior noise filtration, power delivery and protection over other similar products". PS Power says the Duet ships with a stock power cord, but (like any audio products) will benefit from the addition of an aftermarket cord like the PS Power the xStream Plus SC.Has anyone purchased the $395 Duet? What changes, if any, did you notice? Are you using the stock power cord or something else? Your comments and recommendations are requested.

I replaced a UPC200 with a Duet for my 100wpc tube power amp. I am using a Furutech copper outlet, a PS Audio Statement SC power cord from the wall to the Duet and a Cardas Golden Reference cord from the Duet to the amp. Others on the board have noticed a subtle difference between the UPC200 and the Duet. I have to say that, in my system, the Duet made a significant difference: more palpable, more tonal "color," deeper soundstage. Talk to Walter at www.underwoodhif.com for PS Audio stuff.
I'm using a Duet, and find it a subtle improvement over the previous UPC-200 conditioner I was using. With that unit I used an older entry level PS Audio power cord (can't remember which) and didn't like that combo. Sounded...hampered.Switched to a TG Audio 688 power cord and that REALLY opened things up while bringing the sound together in a more focused, refined and satisfying way. I now use the TG Audio cord with the Duet. I couldn't be any happier with that combo. Never did use a Power Center with the stock cord. I've found that power cords can and do make a VERY noticible difference. That can be an improvement or not, depending on the cord, application and system synergy . I consider power cords an important component to the SYSTEM that's as imperative as any other. Plenty of good and useful info over on this over in Cables. Plenty of useful info on the Duet in the PS Audio forum and, I suppose, Tweaker's as well.
If you're ready to investigate power conditioning and you think passive is the way to go, the Duet is excellent and well worth the price. This has been my experience.

I bought one of these recently. I use the stock power cord for the unit from the wall outlet and two Signal cables power cords for the Amplifier and CD Player which are plugged into the Unit. Overall i feel i hear several desirable improvements in sound quality such as greater detail, fuller sound-stage, a more extended presence from the signal in that notes persist further with more energy. I also believe i noticed somewhat more impact in the bass. The stock power cord is rather substantial itself. It is not of the same heft as most 15A computer type AC cords. I found one on Audiogon for $299 shipped. PS audio has its own asylum here also.
