EAC never impressed me sonically-speaking. Note that all these utilities produce files that seem identical as data, but they sound so different.....Meanwhile, I may have already found both a rip and burn utility I prefer over what I initially recommended. Sony CD Architect 5.2 for the burner ($$), Free CD Ripper 1.5.3 for the ripper.
Follow Ups:
For how much I was unimpressed with the ripper, I am impressed with the burner.....
...that is very odd Todd, I would have thought the other way around. The data should the data and this is the sole reason the author of EAC wrote it. The burning function does a serial encode of the data and "can" introduce jitter. Let me check your point, though:You're saying from your above post that "you like the burn function of EAC software"
P.S. DOes SOny CD Architect sound the same or better than the original?
PeAK
"You're saying from your above post that 'you like the burn function of EAC software'"Yes, in regard to the sonic quality of the burned CD-R disc.
Why would that be? Theories, anyone?
