of the bass being deeper (on the CD) is essentially what I reported (on another site) as being the effect of the Bedini Quadri-Bean. Briefly, I don't use it routinely but on thin/shrill sounding CDs I've found it gives a welcome improvement by virtue of the bass getting a nice boost. The Bedini costs but a small fraction of the Furutech DeMag. I bought mine used for a pittance ($50CAN).

Follow Ups:
is the Mapleshade ion zapper (~$38). I use it to very good effect, and it's 10X better than a Zerostat.

I have had an Ionoclast for 5 years or so. It's targeting a different condition.

Can't seem to find it on their site, but isn't it used to remove static charge from an LP? The Bedini I spoke of is a demag for CDs.Anyway, I like your direction, let's see if someone can *out-cheap* both of us.
Something even better for $20 anyone?... do I hear $15, $10?
ps.
Naysayers need not apply, like I already know... spent $0 for the same improvement!! LOL

Later Gator,
Crank up your talking machine, grab a jar of your favorite "kick-back", sit down, relax, and let the good times roll.Eagles may soar, but weasels do not get sucked into jet engines.
....I still use one to this day on my CeeDees and yes it even works on vinyl but it is a bit cumbersome to use on vinyl. It is still available at Radio Shack Catalog # 44-233A for around
$25.Cheers,
Do they last through an entire cd? I think I recall some saying the effects wear off w/in a couple of songs, but I'd be happy to be disabused of that notion if your experience is otherwise. Thanks.
They seem to last the whole CD IME but if the CD is stored for more than a day, they seem to need demagnetizing again.I'll check into it further in the next few days and report back.
Cheers,
I had read somewhere before that all you need is a bulk eraser from Radio Shack.Anyways, I have a handheld Bedini demag and later bought a dual beam demag. The handheld one recently would not spin the CD, so I took it apart to see if I could figure out what was wrong with it. The problem ended up been the spindle getting stuck. Fixed it in no time. Well, the whole thing was of simple construction. There is a motor used to spin CDs over a bulk eraser. (That's what I assume it to be as I have no idea what a bulk eraser looks like) So you could actually built one yourself for a lot cheaper than what Bedini charges.
