would like to know what system may rock well.
Follow Ups:
some vintage altecs (the dual concentric ring radiator ones)
12 inch 2 way~
and a 100 watt class A discrete,
like a "the fisher" tube amp. (1950's ?? not sure what year "the" fisher brand was around)
and a Vandersteen sub, any sub by Vandersteen !!
I dont care even if it is the 10 inch, a weenie little 100 watt sub.
it will ROCK the fuckin boat!
Drew~or a carver sunfire~
it seems to be that mixing the old with the new is a fad of sorts.
the altecs should be 601 duplex. great drivers! i belive the 604 was the 15" driver.please clarify, you have a fisher tube amp or you are saying that the 100 class A sounds like a fisher tube amp? fisher tube gear was around from the early 1950's to the late 1960's, with some later tube models into the early 70's. those were tube, but the styling looked like early SS recievers.
"the fisher" sounds great with the altecs is what I was saying~
great for college kids or out in the soundroom just to have a "large"
sound that most rock and roll "needs". feel me?
add a sub and you have some serious sound!
except you could drive a truck through the midrange. lol
some of your favorites?
here's a random sampling... zep, sabbath, stones, alice in chains, pearl jam, foo fighters, raconteurs, maiden, ac/dc, rush, skynryd, pink floyd, police, cars, collective soul, clapton, gov't mule,
