Does anyone listent to XM or other satellite music over their high end stereo gear? I've heard that "some" are getting free digital channels and music via a satellite and some fta box but I dont know since I pay a monthly fee for my tv viewing pleasure that I dont even watch but anyways just wanted to know how does the sound comes out?
Follow Ups:
I had XM and the programming is fantastic. The sound quality is adequate for in the car but not even close to CD quality. If you want better quality sound from your XM service, try tuning in via the internet. XM provides internet streaming audio which you can get via your web browser as part of your subscription.
If you have a PC with decent powered speakers or a way to route the audio to your main stereo setup, you'll get much better sound quality this way vs. taking the audio from an XM satellite receiver.
Sirius might offer similar internet audio as part of their package.
And one other point, XM and Sirius want to merge but it's being held up by the FCC and congress. You can read a very recent article about it at the link below....

I have XM and I get Sirius music channels free with my Dish Network package. The Sirius plays through my McIntosh den system and my Panasonic digital bedroom system. I have the Polk XM tuner in my bedroom system too.I also have the first gen. Sony XM pod that I use in the car and around the house and garage via an FM signal generator.
I enjoy both Sirius and XM and pretty much listen to one or the other all day long. Neither one is CD quality but you can't beat the variety.
