An Audio Analogue integrated (check out www.underwoodhifi.com)
Spendor S3/5 speakers
Follow Ups:
I talked to Wally and I think I am leaning toward the Augio Analogue unit that he has for $900 which normally goes for $1500 - apparently its the 100 watt unit, not the 70 watt unit that is shown on his site.He says that I can get the new Quad 22L v2 plus the integrated for about $1800 delivered. Seems reasonable to me....
I keep reading so much about the Spendors. Would they be a warmish sounding speaker with good low-level details for nighttime acoustics and vocals? I will check into the Audio Analogue as well as I have bought a lot of good stuff from Wally = he's a good guy. Doesnt he also sell a lot of Quad stuff? Maybe there would be something appropriate from them? Dave
I have the Spendors in my office running off a Jolida 202a at very low volume. They sound really nice. Good detail and not bright or overbearing at all. I have the Quad surrounds. You might want to check out the Triangle stuff that he carries too. I have a pair of the larger Triangle Alteas, but I have heard the bookshelf models. They are great for the money. A little less refined than the Spendors, but nice with a bit of "drama" to the sound.
