Subjective reviews tend to attribute system results to inherent equipment properties. Objective measurement discussions presuppose the measurements are of parameters of models that predict what others find compelling in system results.
Follow Ups:
> Subjective reviews tend to attribute system results to inherent equipment properties.>That's why a good, thorough reviewer will change one component (variable) at a time and use other associated equipment with the DUT to insure what he's hearing and describing is the sonic signature of only the DUT.
I could also mention a certain professor who reviews speakers in a room with large, undamped glass windows and doors, but I'll save that battle for another time.
All this based on a photograph you saw of a room in his house, hmmm...
Music making the painting, recording it the photograph
"Objective measurement discussions presuppose the measurements are of parameters of models that predict what others find compelling in system results."Al, I'm not sure that's true either- if you look I think you will find that a lot of the 'Objective' measurements are based on entirely made up stories that don't and never had any association with anything compelling! -unless you consider money to be 'compelling' :)
Many 'objective' reviews are based on the switches on the faceplates of the measurement equipment at hand.
