About two years ago, I purchased an ARCAM CD23T player. I have been extremely happy with the sound and the good working of the player for a time. However, for several months now, my ARCAM CD23T has showed a very strange fault:Sometimes (ONLY sometimes), when I switch on the unit and I charge a disc, I hear extremely distorted music from the speakers when the disc is playing. This is NOT a fault appearing at some point while the disc is playing, but FROM THE START, from the moment I switch on the unit and I press PLAY.
Believing that the fault could be due to a faulty capacitor, I have carefully replaced ALL the capacitors of the player, but the problem has NOT disappeared.
NONE OF THIS HAD PREVIOUSLY HAPPENED WITH MY ARCAM CD PLAYER, and I am very worried about this.
Follow Ups:
Have you had the top off yet. I was just wondering if there is a speed or spool up problem in the beggining. I tried grabbing my disc the other day while it is playing. Interesting sound. Otherwise, you could check the sound off of the digital out to be sure the transport is working. If that checks out you know your problem is somewhere in the analogue out circuitry.
I am sorry that you went to the trouble of replacing all the caps. I mentioned the last time you posted this that this was probably not the problem. Did you ever talk to Arcam about it?
Yes, I have contacted ARCAM. They have NO IDEA about what is causing this.
They have not more RING DAC boards, either.
