Don't care too much about Video, but need good redbook performance in a $500 player, new or used.Any suggestions?
Follow Ups:
I would opt for a $50 Toshiba DVD player and spend the rest on a good used DAC.
... there are too many out there with too many options.
that slots into yr Computer approx $50... at ..any.. Computer shop :-)
Used, at Audiogon. I snagged mine for $525 delivered to my door. Or, for around $300, you can go with the Denon DVD-2910. They both play just about every shiny disc format (except HD-DVD and Blu-Ray), both are very well-built, and, as a bonus, they do a heckuva good job playing DVD-Video. Best bang for the buck you're likely to find...
How is the 3910 with redbook cd?
I think Soundstage has a review on their site, and it should fall right into your budget.
