Suggestions for decent inexpensive (small) Dac for digi out of Phillips CD-80............
Follow Ups:
If you like analog, smooth sound, you can try one of the nonoversampling dacs, like the MhDT labs around $250

I own a similar one that sounds very nonfatiguing and nice.If you don't mind digital sound and want more punch and detail then something like the Channel Islands VDA-1 or 2 / $400 or less used.

I'm a little confused. Are you suggesting that the VDA-1 and VDA-2 are not smooth sounding? If so, I would disagree (at least on the VDA-2 which I own). It isn't gooey by any means but by most/all accounts it is far more analog sounding than say a Benchmark DAC-1.The VDA-2 is often touted as being one of the most analog sounding DAC's.
Thanx Tom
