Just wondering if car players are inferior to home units. This only occurs on one track fortunately, but the cdp in my car will skip on a track that is handled with ease on every home unit I possess.....including DVD players. Any similar experiences?
Follow Ups:
How old is your car CDP? Is it factory one?
The car and cdp are about a year and a half old. The unit is by Bose and it did come with the car. Actually sounds decent enough and has been trouble free.
This is most likely because in car players the laser is further from the cd (to allow for the anti-shock mechanism).
Interesting . It seems it would make sense that a surface flaw might trip up a car player more easily if the laser is further away.
I have a Ramones disk that will not play at all on my home cd player (pioneer) but plays fine in the car (panasonic). Im going to copy the damn thing onto a black cd and see what happens.
If so, I have had this problem. The fix was to burn the CD-R at the lowest speed supported by the burner (in my case, 8x).
No ,it's just a standard commercial release. ( John Hiatt's Austin City Limits live set )The one caveat, however, is that I did buy it used over at Amazon and while the surface is decent,I wouldn't call it pristine. That said, I've probably bought 50 or 60 used CDs at Amazon and never had a problem.Probably just the luck of the draw that this one sticks/skips.....but only in the car.
