In Reply to: Need advise on the best method to add a Behringer DEQ2496. posted by maine71 on February 22, 2007 at 15:22:43:
Behringer DEQ2496 is very jittery, and its analog stages are not refined enough. I'm considering getting it to myself, but only to be used with DAC that can handle jitter very well.
Follow Ups:
Have you ever LISTENED to a DEQ? Where did you see a report on it's jitter measurements?
... and feedbacks - heard about Google, huh? Analog stage is of low quality, digital is good, but very very jittery - good jitter rejection DAC required.
I don't see any jitter measurements on the Behringer site. Only a spec which says LESS THAN 2nsec which is telling me that they are just posting a spec from the manufacturers sheet for the receiver chip and have never measured the unit with a Miller analyzer which are still rare. I have several DEQ, DCX, and SRC2496s and they sound excellent right out of the box. The digital processing power is indispensable at 5 times the price and when the analog out is modified with the direct out mod, the sonics are much better than a Dac1 or my Assemblage Dac2.7.
