This is now an old-hat topic, but I've acquired a s/h transport with black plastic psu. Unfortunately, the chord has disappeared into the woodwork after a house move. Audiomecaa aren't responding to e-mails, and there are no dealerships left in the UK. Am I to believe this is just an ordinary M to F 9 pin RS232 serial cable that is normally used to connect a modem or printer? Does anyone have their original after upgrading to an aftermarket alternative?I can't get my head round the concept - this cable connects a transport to a power supply, yet the cable is a data cable...How does it work?
Follow Ups:
Looked for Mephisto on Audiogon, after your suggestion. Somebody is selling one (cable) for an obscene price of $400! I hope you find better than that.
ThanksThis was pointed out to me by someone else earlier. Actually not available outside the USA though. Odd that it's $100 more than the equally gasp-inducing new price once asked by Audiomeca themselves for their "own" upgraded version, now seemingly no longer available. I'm still chasing computer shops for the elusive string - no-one seems to have anything less than 3 metres (on paper).
will make a custom cryoed version for you. I have one for my Oracle, but the Post Office lost the package and delivered the label in a plastic bag.
