I'd definitely look out for a used DP-57 . They sell for a bit more than $2K but definitely worth it. If you can shell out some more cash then go to the DP-67 for the ultimate experience. Both players have what you're looking for but the DP-67 has more weight, better resolution and extension albeit being just a tad less sweet.
Both are extremely well built to last a very long time too.
Hope this helps

Follow Ups:
I had read that that the Accuphase house sound is towards the lean side of the spectrum but that was their integrateds. I definitely don't look for leanness in any of my componentry.
Midband fullness & palpability is one of the main strengths of Accuphase cd players. Always has been so by the way..:)AP

Likewise here 'Red'..:) Hope all is well. Ive read comments on some older Accuphase players being slightly lean, but the 67 & the 57 are full bodied, extended with a nice weighty sonic presentation as well as being very sonically refined too.Maybe other inmates can weigh in on this. Personally though, one of the main important reasons I purchased my DP-57 was for its sonic fullness and weight across the spectrum. Even the 'highs/trebles'
had this certain real life weight that you could clearly hear in live music with cymbal works and various percussion instruments etc..See if you can audition one in your set-up.
Good luck
