What's the story with Audio Sector DAC? All I could find were amplifiers? Thanks for response. Does idea of using Slim Audio Squeezebox make any sense?
Follow Ups:
There are many that run the SBs with Dacs. You can contact Peter Daniel of Audio Sector about the Dac. He can build you one on request if you're not into the DIY thing. I must admit I haven't ran mine much since I got the Paradisea..it just adds a nice tube fullness to my all SS system. Not to take anything away from the AS Dac..it is great in its own way as well. I'll eventually swap back to it for a change.
Thanks a loot again. I'll definitely contact Peter Daniel about his DAC. From what you are saying I understand that Paradisea is a strong contender. I'll check on this. Also you mention using SB (squeezebox) with DACs - what about utilizing its analog out/ Is it that bad?
I have not tried the SB. I've seen many comments on its analog outputs from owners. In stock form it will not compete with either of the Dacs that I've mentioned.I've communicated with several that have tried it with both Dacs. When highly modified the SB becomes more of a contender. Only problem is the money taken to mod it can get you a good Dac from the start. You can go to www.audiocircle.com and find tons of info on the SB units.I would personally use it as a transport and get a dedicated Dac.
Did you have any experience with DIYEDEN DACs - Great March or Musiland ?
Nope haven't had either. I nearly pulled the trigger on one a few months back. I ended up with the Paradisea instead. It is one of the best buys for me since I got into audio.
