I own an Esound E5 signature Cd player which I had for around three weeks and have about 350 hours burn-in time on it.Could anyone tell me what is the maximum burn-in time needed in order to obtain the best sound performance out of this player.
Also, can anyone advise me of the best AC power cord and interconnects to match with player. From what I can see, it is sensitive to AC cords. I am currently using AudioQuest ENR-2 and AudioQuest Quartz 3x.
I've e-mailed Cattylink and did not get any reply due to problems with e-mail as they suggest.

Thank you for your reply to my post. I appologise for not replying to you sooner as I for got about it.The CD-Playr came with golden Raincoat Interconnect and siver fuse only. The deal did not include Silver raincoat PC. I will e-mail snowy to inquire about the price.
Can you tell me if your player's relay makes a clicking sound when you first rurn-on the player and pres play. Mine is generating a loud cliking sound from the relay.
Does your siver raincot PC privode a clear sound in additionto the very deailed sond as you indicate.
I was hoping to see you get some takers here, since it's been some time since playing with PCs on the E5. I'll jump in.If memory serves correct, the CD player took a couple hundred hours max break-in before I stopped hearing subtle changes. Most of the changes were well before the hundred hour mark.
I've tried some DIY PCs, all silver ribon PCs and the Silver Raincoat PC that was included with the player. I didn't put the Silver Raincoat PC into the system until after I had the player for a while. It was a little bright and sibilant. This took maybe 50-75 hours to burn-in and calm down. It has remained in the system since. The Silver Raincoat had the best detail, resolution and bass of the PCs that I tried. I have not looked at the guts of the wire, but I'm pretty sure that it's shielded. The other power cords that I tried were not shielded. That said, I'd be interested to hear what other shielded PCs sound like with this player. You are right, this player does seem to be sensitive to PCs. Did you get the Silver Raincoat as part of the deal?
Unfortunately, you may not get much of a response from Snowy on powercord recommendations. He might be familiar with some of his own offerings, but may not be able to comment on cables that are sold commercially. There was a really long thread over on Head-Fi on the E5. If that thread is still there, you may get some responses there. Please let me know if you find out anything more.
Happy New Year!

How do you rate this player? I find it dull and very dark sounding.
