Same questions, but regarding the superclock 3 rather than the 4? Someone must have tried one of the superclocks. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, especially if someone has tried one of the clock upgrades on a Philips 963sa (but feedback with other players is also appreciated). To have the SC4 installed is $295 from RAM inclduign labor, so I want to make sure this is a good idea that will yield audible improvements.
Thanks
Chris

I've used both the SC3 & SC4. The SC4 is a big step up toward a more resolving & analog-like presentation. Either clock benefits from a good power source, such as the Audiocom Invisus regulator or batteries.
I thought you said that about the SC 2 and 3? Just yanking you Dave.cporada, do remember that while the unit is on a bench to have all moving parts cleaned and lubed. An old buddy of mine would make this a standard practice when doing any mods or repairs. He wondered how much of a difference was due to the actual mods themselves or simply deoxydizing volume controls, balance controls, input selectors, cleaning, verifying lazer output and lubing moving parts versus the actual mod. So we did a comparison of before and after on a vintage 70s integrated amp. Guess what, the after, with no mods, sounded much cleaner than before.
Hi Everyone,My case is little bit different with a Denon 2900. I have gradually tried to mod myself by replacing with my collective high grade capacitors like Black Gates, Rubycons, Elna Cerafines, Illinois... to the stock capacitors of the PSU of the unit. Guess what every details, musical notes and 3D soundstage have been thrown out of my vintage speakers (custom built). I am amazed after doing it the whole weekends. I can be assure that my modded Denon 2900 will beat my friend's Sony 9000ES modded by RAM (Superclock 3 and PS for $600.00 and replaced the WBT Nexgen for digital output). Here I am not meaning RAM does not do a good job (actually I was also amazed the sound of the modded transport in Sony 9000) but what I am trying to say that if you want "the sound" you like you should pay with a high price.
