Did you try to play a European DVD in it? The Arcams will output both NTSC and PAL, and the default mode is to auto-switch to whichever encoding format is on the disk. NTSC TVs cannot handle PAL output. Nearly all TVs sold in teh US are NTSC only.Try putting a known NTSC DVD in the player, and see if that returns things to normal. If it does, change the menu selection for video output from Auto to NTSC so it won't happen again.
The other thing to check is if your TV is interlaced only, and you've managed to switch the player into progressive mode. To fix this, you'll need to hook up the TV via the composite video output on the player to see the menu.
Follow Ups:
Everything on the screen is messed up,at one point menu screen spilt into 2 side by side menus, but now the screen just turned gray and black and white, and doesnt let me do anything,it played fine at first with a dvd, then when i was still setting stuff up hit buttons on the remote and it all went whack.
Did you try my suggestions?
I dont think i have any Euro dvd's
