I am looking for a budget CD player that can also play MP3 data disks. Here are the criteria it must meet. The user must be able to navigate easily through folders and mp3 tracks without the use of televison display. This rules out most DVD players.
It must have a line out for use with a receiver. I strongly prefer not to use the headphone jack. This rules out most portables. It also must be able to work off of AC.
It can't be too big. This rules out carousels.
I can't find anything that works, so I'm asking for your help.
Follow Ups:
Maybe check out some of the car stereo manufacturers, like Kenwood, Carey, or Alpine. Maybe they make tabletop players with what you want.
Denon makes some...

It's not a CD player, but I think you're looking for a Squeezebox. I have 2 of them and couldn't be happier. Link attached.
John:A portable CDP may be the place for you to look. I have an iRiver IMP-550 that fills all of your criteria.
It plays MP3's burned onto a CD-R.
It has a mini wired-remote with an LCD display.
It has a 1/8" line out jack that you could run to RCA jacks with the proper adaptor from the Shack (or elsewhere).
It comes with an AC adapter.I think this model has been discontinued, but they have others that might do it for you.
Just a thought.... YMMV

They don't make 'em no more. Amazon might have had a couple discontinued items, but they had digital outs, not analog. And as to the Squeezebox - I really do need a CD Player.
It's amazing I can't find a single product that fits the description.
